It currently occupies an area of approximately 32,000 m², covering about 2,100 m² of teaching laboratories, 7,100 m² of research laboratories, 2,000 m² of instrument rooms, 1,500 m² of workshops and warehouse and 1,320 m² for the library, in addition to classrooms, professor offices, administrative area and other facilities. The research facilities are divided into specific laboratories as illustrated bellow, being mainly utilized as multi-users equipaments (not only for the local community, but open for any institution interested in carrying out different chemical analyses). Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano) – CNPEM

The Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano) is part of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), a private non-profit organization under the supervision by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI). LNNano seeks excellence in the four areas of activity that constitute the mission of CNPEM: to act as a facility open to users from the entire scientific community; to be effective in high-end research; to promote technological innovation in the productive sector, and to disseminate knowledge through events and training. Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) – CNPEM

The Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) is part of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), in Campinas (SP), a private non-profit organization under the supervision of the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (MCTI). LNLS is responsible for operating Sirius, the largest and most complex scientific infrastructure ever built in Brazil and one of the most advanced synchrotron light sources in the world.
